PUR Hot Melt Adhesive in Aluminum Packaging, 607.40-90IG, In aluminum packaging, natural colour. Examples of Use: For bonding thermoplastic edges (e.g., ABS, PP, PVC, PMMA) with a suitable primer on the back, paper, CPL, HPL, veneer edges, and solid wood edge banding. Processing on high-speed wrapping equipment is possible. Properties: Fast-drying and high initial strength compared to other Jowat products within the same application portfolio. Recommended Processing Method: Processing using specialized equipment from airtight sealed containers. During storage, the product may increase in viscosity due to uncontrollable chemical reactions.Such an increase is accelerated by higher storage temperatures. Processing Temperature [°C]: 130 - 150 (depending on application) Appearance: Final digit 0 = beige Final digit 1 = white Final digit 5 = pure white Softening Range [°C]: approx. 70 ± 5 (Kofler method) Open Time at 140°C [s]: approx. 8 ± 2 (Jowat test method) Reaction Time [days]: approx. 4 - 7 (depending on environmental conditions) Bonding Guidelines: Material properties (e.g., surface tension, plasticizer content, etc.), their conditioning, and processing conditions (e.g., ambient temperature, air humidity, etc.) affect the bonding and joining process. The curing of the adhesive depends, among other factors, on the amount of the adhesive applied, ambient humidity, temperature, moisture content, and permeability of the materials. Therefore, we recommend conducting your own tests to determine the correct parameter settings and ensure the product's functionality. For an optimal bond, the materials to be bonded should be clean (free of dust), dry (free of oils and grease), and accurately machine processed. The minimum temperature of the materials should ideally be 18°C. Avoid drafts during processing. Specifications: Viscosity at 140°C [mPas]: approx. 75,000 ± 25,000 (Brookfield, Thermosel, spindle 28, 5 RPM) Density at 20°C [g/cm3]: 1.36 ± 0.06 Cleaning: We recommend adding Jowat® Spülmittel 930.94 (red) into the application and melting unit to flush out any remaining PUR adhesive. Cured and firmly bonded material can be dissolved using Jowat® Reiniger 930.60, but its suitability should be tested beforehand. Storage: Store in original, tightly sealed containers in a cool, dry place (15 - 25°C). The minimum shelf life is indicated on the product label. After the expiration of the stated minimum shelf life, the product’s suitability for the intended application must be re-evaluated. Protect from moisture.
